- Rep. Paiz, having reserved the right to explain her protest against the passage of the bill, made the following statement: “Mr. Speaker and members of the House: Concerns re inefficient funding resources for this extensive program. I strongly believe that this is worthwhile and would like to see it enacted, but I’d like to prevent hardship for schools and school districts.” Rep. Aiyash moved that House Bill No. 5328 be placed on its immediate passage. The motion prevailed, a majority of the members serving voting therefor. House Bill No. 5328, entitled A bill to amend 1992 PA 234, entitled “The judges retirement act of 1992,” by amending section 714 (MCL 38.2664), as amended by 2002 PA 95.
