The following bill was read a third time: Senate Bill No. 470, entitled A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled “Michigan election law,” by amending section 759a (MCL 168.759a), as amended by 2023 PA 25. The question being on the passage of the bill, Senator Johnson offered the following amendments: 1. Amend page 3, line 29, by striking out “ September 1, 2025, ” and inserting “ July 1, 2024, ”. 2. Amend page 6, line 13, after “beginning” by striking out “ September 1, 2025, ” and inserting “ July 1, 2024, ”. 3. Amend page 9, line 14, after “than” by striking out “ September 1, 2025, ” and inserting “ July 1, 2024, ”. The question being on the adoption of the amendments, Senator Lauwers requested the yeas and nays. The yeas and nays were ordered, 1/5 of the members present voting therefor. The amendments were not adopted, a majority of the members serving not voting therefor, as follows:
