- (5) The unexpended portion of funds appropriated to the Michigan public safety communications system for grants for new public safety communications towers is designated as a work project appropriation, and any unencumbered or unallotted funds shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year and shall be available for expenditure for the project under this section until the project has been completed. The following is in compliance with section 451a(1) of the management and budget act, 1984 PA 431, MCL 18.1451a: (a) The purpose of the project is to provide grants to support the construction of new public safety communications towers by local units of government. (b) The project will be accomplished by utilizing state resources, grants, contracts with service providers, or some combination thereof. (c) The total estimated cost of the project is $13,000,000.00. (d) The tentative completion date is September 30, 2029.”. The amendments were not adopted, a majority of the members serving not voting therefor. Senator Albert offered the following amendment: 1. Amend page 19, line 12, by striking out all of line 12 and adjusting the subtotals, totals, and section 201 accordingly. The question being on the adoption of the amendment, Senator Lauwers requested the yeas and nays. The yeas and nays were ordered, 1/5 of the members present voting therefor.
