In The Chair: Nesbitt Senator Hollier offered the following amendment: 1. Amend page 2, following line 10, by inserting: “ (4) Beginning on the effective date of the amendatory act that added this section, any of the following individuals shall notify the governor or an individual that assumes the powers and duties of the office of the governor in accordance with section 26 of article V of the state constitution of 1963 before that individual leaves the state for any purpose: (a) The senate majority leader. (b) The senate minority leader. (c) The speaker of the house of representatives. (d) The minority leader of the house of representatives. (5) The notice required under subsection (4) must be in writing and state the individual’s expected return date. ”. Senator Chang requested the yeas and nays. The yeas and nays were ordered, 1/5 of the members present voting therefor. The amendment was not adopted, a majority of the members serving not voting therefor, as follows:
