- Representative Eisen moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 16, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Rebecca Park, representing the Michigan Farm Bureau, provided a presentation regarding agriculture in the state of Michigan. At 10:39 AM, the laid the committee at ease. At 10:40 AM, the called the committee back to order. Laurie Isley and Kathy Maurer, both representing the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee, and Brian Mckenzie, President of the Michigan Soybean Association, presented a video and provided a presentation on the Michigan Soybean industry and the overarching goals of both the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee and the Michigan Soybean Association. Questions and discussion followed. John Boothroyd, Manager of Government Relations for the Michigan Sugar Company, provided a presentation on the Michigan Sugar Company and the Sugar Beet industry in Michigan. Questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair adjourned the meeting at 11:14 PM.
