The Chair laid HB 4311 and HB 4312 before the committee: HB 4311 (Rep. Iden) A bill to create the lawful internet gaming act; to impose requirements for persons to engage in internet gaming; to create the division of internet gaming; to provide for the powers and duties of the division of internet gaming and other state governmental officers and entities; to impose fees; to impose tax and other payment obligations on the conduct of licensed internet gaming; to create the internet gaming fund; to prohibit certain acts in relation to internet gaming and to prescribe penalties for those violations; to require the promulgation of rules; and to provide remedies. HB 4312 (Rep. Byrd) A bill to amend 1927 PA 175, entitled"The code of criminal procedure,"by amending section 14d of chapter XVII (MCL 777.14d), as amended by 2016 PA 272. The following individuals submitted a card in support of the bills, but did not wish to speak: Ken Cole, representing the City of Detroit.Noel LaPorte, representing the Gun Lake Tribe and the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi. Amend page 26, line 16, after "8%" by inserting "for calendar year 2020, 10% for calendar year 2021, 13% for calendar year 2022, and 16% for calendar year 2023 and for each subsequent year". Representative Garza discussed the proposed amendments before the committee.
