- Representative Wendzel moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 25, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4544 and HB 4545 before the committee: HB 4544 (Rep. Iden) A bill to amend 1969 PA 317, entitled “Worker’s disability compensation act of 1969,"(MCL 418.101 to 418.941) by adding section 123. HB 4545 (Rep. Lilly) A bill to amend 2010 PA 370, entitled “Michigan professional employer organization regulatory act,” by amending section 17 (MCL 338.3737), as amended by 2011 PA 125. Representatives Brandt Iden and Jim Lilly, explained their bills. Greg Packer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for AccessPoint and Chair of the Michigan Leadership Council, testified in support of Questions and discussion followed. Anthony Falzone, Director of Finance for Human Capital, testified in support of Robert J. MacDonald, Attorney, representing the Michigan Association for Justice, testified in opposition of Questions and discussion followed. Mr. Parker came forward to clarify the main intentions of the bills.
