- Representative Wittenberg moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 16, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. At 9:03 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 9:09 PM, the Chair called the committee back to order. The Chair laid HB 4449 before the committee: HB 4449 (Rep. Griffin) A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled "The insurance code of 1956," by amending section 3107b (MCL 500.3107b), as amended by 2014 PA 263. Substitute (H-1) for HB 4449 was previously adopted on April 18th, 2019. Dyck Van Koevering, representing the Insurance Alliance of Michigan, testified in opposition to HB 4449. The following people submitted a card in opposition to HB 4449, but did not wish to speak: Rudy Hubbs, representing the State Farm Insurance Company. Jeff Junkas, representing the American Property Casualty Insurance Association. Frank Vento, representing the Progressive Corporation. Wendy Block, representing the Michigan Chamber of Commerce.
