- Representative Lilly moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 25, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5134 before the committee: HB 5134 (Rep. VanWoerkom) A bill to amend 1966 PA 225, entitled "Carnival-amusement safety act of 1966," by amending section 10 (MCL 408.660), as amended by 2014 PA 163. Representative VanWoerkom testified in support of HB 5134. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 5134, but did not wish to speak: Erika Scheffer, representing the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. The Chair laid HB 4042 before the committee: HB 4042 (Rep. Whiteford) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 17201 (MCL 333.17201), as amended by 2016 PA 499, and by adding sections 16190, 17225, and 17225a. Deb Drick, representing Representative Whiteford's office, testified in support of HB 4042. Carole Stacey, representing the American Nurses Association of Michigan, testified in support of HB 4042.
