The Chair laid HB 5920 before the committee: HB 5920 (Rep. Peterson) A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled "Michigan vehicle code," (MCL 257.1 to 257.923) by adding section 811aa. Representative Petersen, joined by Dr. Wanda Whitten-Shurney, CEO of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America - Michigan Chapter testified in support of HB 5920. Questions and discussion followed. Stefani Worth, representing the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America - Michigan Chapter, testified in support of HB 5920. Dr. Susumu Inoue, representing the Hurley Medical Center, testified in support of HB 5920. Matt Levin, representing the Michigan Department of State, testified with a neutral position on HB 5920.
