- Representative Hauck moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 4, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4043 and HB 4044 before the committee: HB 4043 (Rep. Whiteford) A bill to amend 1974 PA 258, entitled "Mental health code," by amending section 151 (MCL 330.1151), as added by 2018 PA 658. HB 4044 (Rep. Whiteford) A bill to amend 1974 PA 258, entitled "Mental health code," by amending section 165 (MCL 330.1165), as added by 2020 PA 12. Rep. Whiteford, testified in support of HB 4043 and HB 4044. Questions and discussion followed. Allen Jansen, Deputy Director of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Administration, and Jon Villasurda, both representing the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, testified in support of HB 4043 and HB 4044. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4043 and HB 4044, but did not wish to speak: Heather Nicholoff, representing the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners.
