- Representative Rendon moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 24, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4599 and HB 4600 before the committee: HB 4599 (Rep. Alexander) A bill to amend 1995 PA 279, entitled "Horse racing law of 1995," by amending sections 8, 19, and 20 (MCL 431.308, 431.319, and 431.320), as amended by 2019 PA 153. HB 4600 (Rep. Cherry) A bill to amend 1951 PA 90, entitled "An act to regulate the conducting of racing meets in the state of Michigan; to provide for the possession, control and disposition of funds held by licensees for the payment of outstanding winning tickets not claimed or demanded by the lawful owners of such funds; and to prescribe penalties for violations of the provisions of this act," by amending section 2 (MCL 431.252), as amended by 1998 PA 505. At 10:34 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. Majority Vice-Chair Posthumus assumed the gavel. At 10:35 AM, Majority Vice Chair Bryan Posthumus called the committee back to order.
