- Representative Ellison moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 21, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4637 before the committee: HB 4637 (Rep. Martin) A bill to amend 1846 RS 16, entitled "Of the powers and duties of townships, the election and duties of township officers, and the division of townships," (MCL 41.1a to 41.110c) by adding section 2a. Representative Martin, Jerry Preston, a Flint Township resident, and Judy Allen, representing the Michigan Townships Association, testified in support of HB 4637. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid HB 4496 before the committee: HB 4496 (Rep. Breen) A bill to amend 1893 PA 206, entitled "The general property tax act," by amending section 78q (MCL 211.78q), as amended by 2020 PA 33. Representative Breen and Andy Mesiner, the Oakland County Treasurer, testified in support of HB 4496. Questions and discussion followed.
