- Representative Outman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 27, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid the following before the committee: Presentation on details regarding the state undercounting nursing home deaths The Chair made comments to the committee. Steve Delie, representing the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, testified before the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Director Elizabeth Hertel, representing the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, testified before the committee. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid SJRG before the committee: SJRG (Sen. Barrett) A joint resolution proposing an amendment to the state constitution of 1963, by adding section 9 to article XI, to protect certain communications with members of the legislature. Bryce Fisher, representing Senator Tom Barrett testified in support of SJRG. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Steven Johnson adjourned the meeting at 11:46 AM.
