- Representative Rabhi moved to report out HR 118 with recommendation, as substitute (H-1). The motion prevailed 5-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Mueller, VanWoerkom, Hauck, Cherry, Rabhi. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HB 5007 before the committee: HB 5007 (Rep. Berman) A bill to amend 1972 PA 222, entitled "An act to provide for an official personal identification card; to provide for its form, issuance and use; to regulate the use and disclosure of information obtained from the card; to prescribe the powers and duties of the secretary of state; to prescribe fees; to prescribe certain penalties for violations; and to provide an appropriation for certain purposes," by amending sections 2 and 2a (MCL 28.292 and 28.292a), section 2 as amended and section 2a as added by 2020 PA 306. Representative Berman testified in support of his legislation. Matt Levin, representing the Michigan Department of State, testified in opposition to HB 5007. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Berman returned to answer further questions. Representative Cherry offered the following amendment to HB 5007: 1. Amend page 8, line 26, after "2022" by inserting "and upon sufficient appropriation,".
