- Representative O'Neal moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 30, 2021. There being no objections, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid before the Committee a presentation on Digital Workforce Development (DWD). James Curran, Owner of Haptix Studio, and Joe Bamberger, Managing Partner of Emerge Consulting, did a PowerPoint on presentation on Digital Workforce Development (DWD). Questions followed. A copy of the presentation and handout is attached. At 9:54 a. m., the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 9:55 a. m., with all members present, the Majority Vice Chair David Martin called the committee back to order. The Chair laid HB 5433, HB 5434 and HB 5435 before the committee: HB 5433 (Rep. Posthumus) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 16305a. HB 5434 (Rep. Griffin) A bill to amend 2016 PA 407, entitled "Skilled trades regulation act," (MCL 339.5101 to 339.6133) by adding section 407a. HB 5435 (Rep. Steven Johnson) A bill to amend 1980 PA 299, entitled "Occupational code," (MCL 339.101 to 339.2677) by adding section 407a. Chair Beth Griffin, the bill sponsor for HB 5434, and Representative Steven Johnson, the bill sponsor for HB 5435, explained the bill package. Questions followed. Fred Schaible, Legislative Liaison for the Michigan Department of Military Affairs, submitted a card stating he was available for questions for HB 5433, HB 5434, and HB5435. There being no further business before the committee; Representative Markkanen moved that the committee adjourn.
