- Representative Mueller moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 20, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 1003 before the committee: SB 1003 (Sen. VanderWall) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending sections 81101, 81132, 81145, 81146, and 81150 (MCL 324.81101, 324.81132, 324.81145, 324.81146, and 324.81150), section 81101 as amended by 2020 PA 385 and sections 81132, 81145, 81146, and 81150 as added by 1995 PA 58. Senator VanderWall, Sheriff Kim Cole, and Sheriff Ed Oswald, both representing the Michigan Sheriff's Association, testified together in support of SB 1003. Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card in support of SB 1003, but did not wish to speak: Taylor Ridderbusch, representing the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The Chair laid HB 5473 before the committee: HB 5473 (Rep. Meerman) A bill to amend 1927 PA 175, entitled "The code of criminal procedure," by repealing sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 6a, and 6b of chapter VII (MCL 767.3, 767.4, 767.5, 767.6, 767.6a, and 767.6b), section 6 of chapter VII as amended by 1999 PA 250.
