- Representative Young moved to adopt the meeting minutes from January 31, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Chair Hope laid before the committee a presentation by The Innocence Project. Marla Mitchell-Cichon, Counsel to the Cooley Law School Innocence Project; and Tracey Weaver Brame, Director of the WMU Cooley Innocence Project, gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Chair Hope laid before the committee a presentation by the Michigan Sheriffs' Association. Ingham County Sheriff, Scott Wriggelsworth, Member of Michigan Sheriffs' Association Legislative Committee; Matt Saxton, Executive Director, Michigan Sheriffs' Association, (Retired Sheriff, Calhoun County); and Dan Pfannes, Deputy Director, Michigan Sheriffs' Association, (Retired Undersheriff, Wayne County), gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Hope adjourned the meeting at 10:00 AM.
