Representative Borton moved to adopt the amendments to HB 4289. The motion did not prevail 12-17-0: UNFAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Lightner, Bollin, Green, Slagh, Beson, Borton, Fink, Cavitt, DeBoer, Kuhn, Schuette, Steele. Nays: Reps. Witwer, O'Neal, Brixie, Hood, Brabec, Morse, Puri, Steckloff, Weiss, Martus, McKinney, Mentzer, Morgan, Price, Skaggs, Snyder, Wilson. Pass: None. Representative Slagh offered the following amendment to HB 4289: 1. Amend page 16, line 22, by striking out all of all of Sec. 225 and inserting: “Sec. 225. (1) Money appropriated in part 1 must not be used to require or interfere with actions related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by fund recipients unless such actions are a violation of law; to restrict or impede a marginalized community’s access to government resources, programs, or facilities; or to diminish, interfere with, or restrict an individual’s ability to exercise rights as outlined under State Constitution and state statute. (2) From the funds appropriated in part 1, local governments shall report any illegal action or policy that attempts to restrict or interfere with the duties of the local health officer.”
