Representative McFall moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 10, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4446, HB 4447, HB 4448 and HB 4449 before the committee: HB 4446 (Rep. Puri) A bill to designate Diwali, Deepavali, or the Festival of Lights as a holiday in this state. HB 4447 (Rep. Aiyash) A bill to designate Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr as holidays in this state. HB 4448 (Rep. MacDonell) A bill to designate Lunar New Year as a holiday in this state. HB 4449 (Rep. Puri) A bill to designate Vaisakhi or Baisakhi as a holiday in this state. Representative Puri and Representative Aiyash testified in support of HB 4446, HB 4447, HB 4448 and HB 4449. Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card in support of HB 4446, HB 4447, HB 4448 and HB 4449, but did not wish to speak: Rabbi Asher Lopatin, the Executive Director of the Jewish Community Relations Council. The Chair laid HB 4544 and HB 4545 before the committee: HB 4544 (Rep. Arbit) A bill to designate Rosh Hashanah as a holiday in this state. HB 4545 (Rep.
