- Representative Farhat moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 17, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4317 and HB 4318 before the committee: HB 4317 (Rep. VanderWall) A bill to provide for the establishment of solar energy districts in certain local governmental units; to provide for the exemption from certain taxes; to levy and collect a specific tax upon the owners or lessees of certain qualified facilities; to provide for the disposition of the tax; to provide for the obtaining and transferring of an exemption certificate and to prescribe the contents of those certificates; and to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officials. HB 4318 (Rep. Neeley) A bill to amend 1893 PA 206, entitled "The general property tax act," by amending sections 9 and 9f (MCL 211.9 and 211.9f), section 9 as amended by 2011 PA 290 and section 9f as amended by 2017 PA 261. A substitute (H-1) was adopted for HB 4317 at the May 17th, 2023 meeting.
