Representative Mentzer moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 20, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid before the committee a presentation by Dr. Pamela Pugh, President, Michigan Board of Education, and Dr. Michael Rice, State Superintendent, on the current state of Michigan’s public education. Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card wishing to speak, but due to the time constraints was unable to speak: Jim Casha, representing Kids with Cognitive Disabilities due to Prenatal Alcohol Exposure.
