The Chair laid HB 4861 before the committee: HB 4861 (Rep. Outman) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," by amending section 558 (MCL 168.558), as amended by 2021 PA 158. Representative Outman testified in support of HB 4861. Questions and discussions followed. Judge Margaret Van Houten, representing the Third Circuit Court, testified in support of HB 4861. Judge Kelly Ramsey, representing the Third Circuit Court, testified in support of HB 4861. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4861, but did not wish to speak: Monica Martinez, representing the Michigan Judges Association. Bill Zaagman, representing the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks. Trevor Van Dyke, representing the State Court Administrative Office.
