- Representative Mentzer moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 30, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid before the committee testimony on the Michigan Department of Education’s proposed Health Standards Framework. Dr. Sue Carnell, Michigan Department of Education Interim State Superintendent, testified to the Michigan Department of Education’s proposed Health Standards Framework. Questions and discussions followed. Nikki Snyder, Member of the Michigan State Board of Education, testified to the Michigan Department of Education’s proposed Health Standards Framework. At 10:27 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 10:37 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. The Chair laid HR 195 before the committee: HR 195 (Rep. Johnsen) A resolution to oppose the proposed Michigan Health Education Standards Framework and urge the Michigan Department of Education to redraft or the Michigan State Board of Education to reject these standards.
