- Representative Hoadley moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 03, 2026. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5717 before the committee: HB 5717 (Rep. Wortz) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," by amending section 373 (MCL 168.373). Representative Wortz and Abe Dane, the Hillsdale County Clerk, testified in support of HB 5717. Questions and discussions followed. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 5717, but did not wish to speak: Sheree Ritchie, representing Pure Integrity Michigan Elections. Bill Zaagman, representing the Michigan Association of County Clerks. The Chair laid HB 4765 before the committee: HB 4765 (Rep. Woolford) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," by amending sections 493a, 493b, 495, 509gg, and 509ii (MCL 168.493a, 168.493b, 168.495, 168.509gg, and 168.509ii), section 493a as amended and section 493b as added by 2023 PA 268, sections 495 and 509gg as amended by 2023 PA 258, and section 509ii as amended by 2023 PA 257, and by adding section 496c. A substitute (H-1) to HB 4765 was previously adopted at the March 3, 2026, meeting.
