Representative Rogers moved to adopt the amendments to HB 5619. The motion did not prevail 12-15-1: UNFAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Tate, O'Neal, Rogers, Steckloff, Glanville, Edwards, Farhat, Martus, McKinney, Morgan, Snyder and Longjohn. Nays: Reps. Bollin, Maddock, Jenkins-Arno, Kelly, Markkanen, Mueller, Slagh, VanWoerkom, Beson, Borton, Roth, Cavitt, Kuhn, Steele and Robinson. Pass: Rep. Phil Green. Representative Edwards offered the following amendments to HB 5619: 1. Amend page 423, following line 24, by inserting: Community violence prevention $ 2,500,000 2. Amend page 423, line 25, after "activities" by striking out "$"and adjusting the subtotals, totals, and section 201 accordingly. 3. Amend page 529, following line 29, by inserting: " Sec. 1912. (1) The funds appropriated in part 1 for community violence prevention – gun safety and training shall be used to implement recommendations of the Michigan gun violence prevention task force, created by executive order 2024-4. (2) Unexpended and unencumbered funds appropriated in part 1 for community violence prevention – gun safety and training are designated as work project appropriations. Any unencumbered or unallotted funds shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year and will be available for projects under this section until the work project has been completed. The following is in compliance with section 451a of the management and budget act, 1984 PA 431, MCL 18.1451a: (a) The purpose of the work project is to implement recommendations of the Michigan gun violence prevention task force. (b) The work project will be accomplished using state resources or contracts with service providers, institutions of higher education, or other entities, as appropriate. (c) The total estimated completion cost of the work project is $2,500,000.00. (d) The tentative completion date for the work project is September 30, 2031.". 4. Amend page 532, line 28, after "grants" by striking out "28,203,900" and inserting "30,000,000". 5. Amend page 533, line 10, after " services " by striking out "5,270,100" and inserting "7,097,300". 6. Amend page 533 line 26, after " families " by striking out "4,629,400" and inserting "6,350,700". 7. Amend page 535, line 25, after "11.9" by striking out "8,308,700" and inserting "11,558,700". 8. Amend page 536, line 7, after "revenues" by striking out "16,066,800" and inserting "19,316,800". 9. Amend page 536, line 26, after "40.9" by striking out "18,045,400" and inserting "19,768,700". 10. Amend page 537, line 6, after " revenues " by striking out "256,284,900" and inserting "258,008,200" and adjusting the subtotals, totals, and section 201 accordingly. 11. Amend page 569, line 7, by striking out "$28,101,300.00" and inserting "$29,897,400.00".
