- Representative Martus moved to adopt the amendments to HB 5619. The motion did not prevail 12-16-0: UNFAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Tate, O'Neal, Rogers, Steckloff, Glanville, Edwards, Farhat, Martus, McKinney, Morgan, Snyder and Longjohn. Nays: Reps. Bollin, Maddock, Phil Green, Jenkins-Arno, Kelly, Markkanen, Mueller, Slagh, VanWoerkom, Beson, Borton, Roth, Cavitt, Kuhn, Steele and Robinson. Pass: None. Representative Snyder offered the following amendments to HB 5619: 1. Amend page 846, following line 22, by inserting: Behavioral health co-response program $ 8,000,000 and adjusting the subtotals, totals, and section 201 accordingly. 2. Amend page 846, line 23, after "investigations" by striking out "$". 3. Amend page 847, following line 1, by inserting: Special revenue funds: Budget stabilization fund 8,000,000 and adjusting the subtotals, totals, and section 201 accordingly. 4. Amend page 887, following line 29, by inserting: "Sec. 703. (1) The department shall use the funds appropriated in part 1 for behavioral health co-response program to create and administer behavioral health co-response teams within the Michigan state police. As used in this section, “behavioral health co-response team” means a team or unit made up of, but not limited to, the following: (a) One or more law enforcement officers currently employed by the department. (b) One or more licensed mental health professionals. (2) Behavioral health co-response teams created under this section shall be available for call out statewide for the purposes of supporting conflict de-escalation and safety on emergency call outs related to behavioral health.".
