- Representative Rendon moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 6, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent of the members present. The Chair laid before the committee presentations by Michigan Federation for Children and Families, and Wellspring Lutheran Services. Janet Reynolds Snyder, MBA, Executive Director for Michigan Federation for Children and Families, introduced Sean deFour, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Wellspring Lutheran Services, who gave an overview on their programs. Questions followed. Copies of their written testimony and handouts are attached. The Chair laid before the committee a presentation by the Association of Accredited Child and Families Agencies. Judith Fischer Wollack, Chief Executive Officer for Wolverine Human Services and President of the Association of Accredited Child and Families Agencies (AACFA), gave recommendations to improve the Child Welfare System. Questions followed. A copy of her handout is attached. Jim Casha submitted written testimony to the full committee on Michigan’s Foster Care, which is attached.
