The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 423 (Sen. Santana). 2. Testimony regarding SB 424 (Sen. VanderWall). 3. Testimony regarding HB 4348 (Rep. Calley). 4. Testimony regarding HB 4521 (Rep. Brabec). The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:32 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Brinks, Hertel, Santana and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to adopt the meeting minutes from June 30, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. Santana to summarize SB's 423 and 424. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB's 423 and 424: Dr. Cara Poland, M.D., Michigan Society of Addiction Medicine – Support Kyle Kaminski, Michigan Department of Corrections - Support The Chair brought up HB 4348 (Rep. Calley). The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4348: Peter Matz, Food Industry Association – Support Antonia Ciacci, 3Axis – Support The Chair invited Rep. Brabec to summarize HB 4521.
