The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 423 (Sen. Santana). 2. Testimony regarding SB 424 (Sen. VanderWall). 3. Testimony regarding HB 4348 (Rep. Calley). 4. Testimony regarding HB 4521 (Rep. Brabec). The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:32 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Brinks, Hertel, Santana and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to adopt the meeting minutes from June 30, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. Calley). The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4348: Peter Matz, Food Industry Association – Support Antonia Ciacci, 3Axis – Support The Chair invited Rep. Brabec to summarize HB 4521. Victory to report HB 4980 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Barrett, Sen.(s) LaSata, McBroom, Victory, Outman, Lauwers, Bullock, and Hollier Nays: None Pass: Sen. Geiss The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 4980. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. Page 1 of 2 The Chair summarized HB 4735. The Chair offered, and summarized, an (S-1) version of HB 4735. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4735: Troy Hagon, Michigan Department of Transportation – Neutral The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to adopt the (S-1) version of HB 4735.
