The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 614 (Sen. MacDonald). 2. Reported HB 4667 (Rep. Allor) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, Santana, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to adopt the meeting minutes from October 14, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. MacDonald to summarize SB 614. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Steven Johnson, Outman, Hoitenga, Reilly, O'Malley, Wozniak, Brixie, LaGrand,Young. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representatives Hoitenga and LaGrand joined the committee remotely. Representative Outman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from October 14, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid the discussion on Drinking Water Safety Issues in the City of Benton Harbor before the committee. Liesl Clark, and Eric Oswald, representing the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, testified in regard to the discussion on Drinking Water Safety Issues in the City of Benton Harbor. Questions and discussion followed. Bishop James Atterberry, testified in regard to the discussion on Drinking Water Safety Issues in the City of Benton Harbor. Mayor Marcus Muhammad, Alexander Little, and Chris Cook, representing the City of Benton Harbor, testified in regard to the discussion on Drinking Water Safety Issues in the City of Benton Harbor.
