The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Shannon, MacDonell, Conlin, Farhat, Fitzgerald, Hoskins, Miller, Herzberg, Outman, Roth, Bruck, Kunse, St. Germaine. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Kunse moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 4, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 706 and SB 799 before the committee: SB 706 (Sen. Klinefelt) A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled "Michigan vehicle code," by amending sections 204a, 304, 312f, 320e, 732a, and 904 (MCL 257.204a, 257.304, 257.312f, 257.320e, 257.732a, and 257.904), sections 204a and 320e as amended by 2020 PA 376, section 304 as amended by 2023 PA 125, section 312f as amended by 2022 PA 193, section 732a as amended by 2018 PA 50, and section 904 as amended by 2020 PA 383; and to repeal acts and parts of acts. SB 799 (Sen. Klinefelt) A bill to amend 2008 PA 23, entitled "Enhanced driver license and enhanced official state personal identification card act," by amending section 4 (MCL 28.304), as amended by 2021 PA 72. Churches) A bill to amend 1846 RS 16, entitled "Of the powers and duties of townships, the election and duties of township officers, and the division of townships," (MCL 41.1a to 41.110c) by adding section 2b. Representative Churches and Supervisor Jim Budny, Manager Derek Thiel, and Treasurer David Nadeau, representing Grosse Ile Township, testified in support of HB 5779. Questions and discussion followed. At 11:12 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 11:13 AM, Majority Vice Chair MacDonell called the committee back to order. The Chair laid HB 5732 before the committee: HB 5732 (Rep. Shannon) A bill to amend 2016 PA 436, entitled "Unmanned aircraft systems act," by amending section 7 (MCL 259.307), as added by 2018 PA 442. Representative Shannon, Niel DeSouza, and Bradley Stoddard, representing the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget, testified in support of HB 5732. Questions and discussion followed. At 11:26 AM, Majority Vice Chair MacDonell laid the committee at ease. At 11:27 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order.
