- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE REP. REGGIE MILLER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, June 12, 2024 9:00 AM Senate Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Agriculture was called to order by Chair Miller. The House Committee on Agriculture was meeting jointly with the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Agriculture. The Clerk read a letter from Speaker Joe Tate removing Representative Peter Herzberg from the Committee, and adding Representative Jennifer Conlin to the Committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Miller, Paiz, Young, Coffia, Conlin, Dievendorf, Fitzgerald, Rheingans, Neyer, VanderWall, Roth, Bierlein, Smit. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Paiz moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 22, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid a presentation on Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza before the Committee. Dr. Tim Boring representing the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development testified with no position on Questions and discussion followed. Dr. Nora Wineland, representing the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, joined to answer questions from the Committee. At 9:57 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 9:59 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. The Committee continued questions and discussion on the presentation. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Miller adjourned the meeting at 10:30 AM.
