ROGERS CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, June 13, 2024 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Health Policy was called to order by Chair Rogers. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Rogers, Whitsett, Brenda Carter, Haadsma, Neeley, Glanville, Coffia, Conlin, Fitzgerald, Miller, Rheingans, VanderWall, Filler, Mueller, VanWoerkom, Roth, Schmaltz, Thompson. Absent: Rep. Farhat. Excused: Rep. Farhat. Representative Fitzgerald moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 22, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5785 before the committee: HB 5785 (Rep. Brabec) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending sections 18221, 18223, 18233, and 18237 (MCL 333.18221, 333.18223, 333.18233, and 333.18237), section 18221 as amended by 2006 PA 395, section 18223 as amended by 2018 PA 24, section 18233 as amended by 1994 PA 234, and section 18237 as amended by 1998 PA 496. The Clerk read a letter from Chair Rogers referring HB 5785 to the Health Policy Subcommittee on Behavioral Health. The Chair laid HB 5283 and HB 5284 before the committee: HB 5283 (Rep. Rogers) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending sections 2501, 2505, and 2511 (MCL 333.2501, 333.2505, and 333.2511), sections 2501 and 2505 as added by 2006 PA 137 and section 2511 as added by 2006 PA 459. HB 5284 (Rep. VanderWall) A bill to amend 2018 PA 175, entitled "Insurance provider assessment act," by amending section 13 (MCL 550.1763).
