NATE SHANNON CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, June 18, 2024 10:30 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Transportation, Mobility and Infrastructure was called to order by Chair Shannon. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Shannon, MacDonell, Conlin, Farhat, Fitzgerald, Hoskins, Miller, Herzberg, Outman, Roth, Bruck, Kunse, St. Germaine. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Herzberg moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 11, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5732 before the committee: HB 5732 (Rep. Shannon) A bill to amend 2016 PA 436, entitled "Unmanned aircraft systems act," by amending section 7 (MCL 259.307), as added by 2018 PA 442. The following person submitted a card in support of HB 5732, but did not wish to speak: Neil DeSouza, representing the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget. Representative Miller moved to report out HB 5732 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 13-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Shannon, MacDonell, Conlin, Farhat, Fitzgerald, Hoskins, Miller, Herzberg, Outman, Roth, Bruck, Kunse, St. Germaine. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HB 5779 before the committee: HB 5779 (Rep. Churches) A bill to amend 1846 RS 16, entitled "Of the powers and duties of townships, the election and duties of township officers, and the division of townships," (MCL 41.1a to 41.110c) by adding section 2b. Representative Farhat moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 5779. The motion prevailed 11-0-2: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Shannon, MacDonell, Conlin, Farhat, Fitzgerald, Hoskins, Miller, Herzberg, Roth, Bruck, Kunse. Nays: None. Pass: Reps. Outman, St. Germaine. Representative Farhat moved to report out HB 5779 with recommendation, as substitute (H-1). The motion prevailed 8-0-5: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Shannon, MacDonell, Conlin, Farhat, Fitzgerald, Hoskins, Miller, Herzberg. Nays: None. Pass: Reps. Outman, Roth, Bruck, Kunse, St. Germaine.
