- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON JUDICIARY REP. SARAH LIGHTNER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Judiciary was called to order by Chair Lightner. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Lightner, BeGole, Wozniak, Harris, DeBoyer, Johnsen, Schuette, Tyrone Carter, Hope and Breen. Absent: Rep. Scott. Excused: Rep. Scott. Representative BeGole moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 16, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. Representative Wozniak moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 23, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. Chair Lightner moved to excuse Representative Scott from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. At 10:33 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 10:43 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. Chair Lightner laid before the committee a presentation from the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC). Kyle Kaminski, OS Administrator/Legislative Liaison for the MDOC, gave an overview of the Michigan Department of Corrections. Questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Lightner adjourned the meeting at 11:56 AM.
