TYRONE CARTER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, December 3, 2024 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Regulatory Reform was called to order by Chair Tyrone Carter. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Tyrone Carter, Liberati, Neeley, Scott, Young, Grant, McFall, Snyder, Wilson, Mueller, Filler, Aragona, Bierlein, Neyer. Absent: Rep. Wendzel. Excused: Rep. Wendzel. Representative Snyder moved to adopt the meeting minutes from November 12, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 868 before the committee: SB 868 (Sen. Hertel) A bill to amend 1998 PA 58, entitled "Michigan liquor control code of 1998," by amending section 105 (MCL 436.1105), as amended by 2022 PA 226. Representative Wilson moved to report out SB 868 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 10-0-4: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Tyrone Carter, Liberati, Neeley, Scott, Young, Grant, McFall, Snyder, Wilson, Filler. Nays: None. Pass: Reps. Mueller, Aragona, Bierlein, Neyer. Dan Myckowiak and Bill Drake, representing Senator Polehanki and Senator Wojno, testified in support of SB 730, SB 731 and SB 732. Nick Haas, representing Senator Cherry, testified in support of SB 867. Melissa Horste, representing the Michigan Secretary of State, testified in support of SB 867. Questions and discussion followed. Kurt Berryman, representing the Auto Dealers of Michigan, testified in support of SB 867. The following person submitted a card in support of SB 867, but did not wish to speak: Amanda Fisher, representing the NFIB. Representative Liberati moved to excuse Representative Wendzel from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
