JOHN FITZGERALD CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, December 4, 2024 12:00 PM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Local Government and Municipal Finance was called to order by Chair Fitzgerald. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Fitzgerald, Byrnes, Shannon, Breen, Rogers, Hill, Hoskins, Paiz, Bezotte, BeGole. Absent: Reps. Zorn, Paquette, Prestin. Excused: Reps. Zorn, Paquette, Prestin. Representative Breen moved to adopt the meeting minutes from November 14, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 480 before the committee: SB 480 (Sen. Hertel) A bill to amend 1967 PA 288, entitled "Land division act," by amending section 108 (MCL 560.108), as added by 1996 PA 591. Representative Rogers moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to SB 480. The motion prevailed 10- 0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Fitzgerald, Byrnes, Shannon, Breen, Rogers, Hill, Hoskins, Paiz, Bezotte, BeGole. Nays: None. Pass: None. Stacy Hissong, representing the Michigan Association of County Drain Commissioners, testified in opposition to SB 480. Questions and discussion followed. Nays: None. Pass: None. At 12:52 PM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 12:52 AM, Majority Vice Chair Byrnes called the committee back to order. Representative Fitzgerald testified in support of HB 4693. Questions and discussion followed. At 1:03 AM, Majority Vice Chair Byrnes laid the committee at ease.
