FELICIA BRABEC CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, May 25, 2023 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Health Policy Subcommittee on Behavioral Health was called to order by Chair Brabec. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Brabec, Arbit, Pohutsky, Glanville, Edwards, MacDonell, Rheingans, Schmaltz, Hoadley, St. Germaine. Absent: Rep. Thompson. Excused: Rep. Thompson. Representatives Arbit, Glanville and Edwards joined the committee remotely. Representative St. Germaine moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 18, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Representative MacDonell moved to excuse Representative Thompson from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Chair Brabec laid before the committee presentations by Sam Price, President and CEO of Ten16 Recovery Network; Ronnie Tyson, Clinical Director of Odyssey House; and Greg Toutant, CEO of Great Lakes Recovery Centers. Questions and discussion followed. Chair Brabec laid before the committee a presentation by Linda Davis, Executive Director of Families Against Narcotics. Questions and discussion followed. Chair Brabec laid before the committee a presentation by Dr. Kanzoni Asabigi, Vice President of the Detroit Recovery Project, and member of the Michigan Association of Substance Abuse Providers. Questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the subcommittee, Chair Brabec adjourned the meeting at 10:26 AM.
