KEVIN COLEMAN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, October 5, 2023 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Economic Development and Small Business Subcommittee on Housing was called to order by Chair Coleman. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Coleman, Dievendorf, Stone, Scott, Andrews, Grant, Tsernoglou, Aragona, Zorn, Fink, DeBoyer. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Andrews moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 28, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4891 before the committee: HB 4891 (Rep. Andrews) A bill to amend 1972 PA 348, entitled "An act to regulate relationships between landlords and tenants relative to rental agreements for rental units; to regulate the payment, repayment, use and investment of security deposits; to provide for commencement and termination inventories of rental units; to provide for termination arrangements relative to rental units; to provide for legal remedies; and to provide penalties," (MCL 554.601 to 554.616) by amending the title and by adding section 7a. Representative Scott moved to refer HB 4891 to the Committee on Economic Development and Small Business. The motion prevailed 7-4-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Coleman, Dievendorf, Stone, Scott, Andrews, Grant, Tsernoglou. Nays: Reps. Aragona, Zorn, Fink, DeBoyer. Pass: None.
