- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON JUDICIARY REP. GRAHAM FILLER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, February 2, 2021 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Judiciary was called to order by Chair Filler. The Clerk read a letter from House Speaker Jason Wentworth which appointed members of the House Judiciary Committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Filler, Mueller, Steven Johnson, Kahle, Rendon, Berman, Wozniak, Clements, LaGrand, Yancey, Bolden, Hope, Breen. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Berman joined the committee remotely. Representative Mueller moved to adopt Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in room 519 of the House Office Building as the day, time, and location for regularly scheduled meetings of the House Judiciary Committee. The motion prevailed 12-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Filler, Mueller, Steven Johnson, Kahle, Rendon, Wozniak, Clements, LaGrand, Yancey, Bolden, Hope, Breen. Nays: None. Pass: None. Chairman Filler announced that the House Judiciary Committee will follow Chapter IV, as stated in the House Standing Rules, that were adopted on the House Floor. Chairman Filler laid before the committee a presentation by the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan. Chris Becker, Prosecuting Attorney of Kent County, and DJ Hilson, Prosecuting Attorney of Muskegon County, gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Chairman Filler laid before the committee a presentation by the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan (CDAM). Jessica Zimbelman, representing the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, gave a presentation to the committee.
