- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON MILITARY, VETERANS AND HOMELAND SECURITY REP. BEAU MATTHEW LAFAVE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, February 2, 2021 12:00 PM Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Military, Veterans and Homeland Security was called to order by the Chair LaFave. The Clerk read a letter from House Speaker Jason Wentworth which appointed members of the House Committee on Military, Veterans, and Homeland Security. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. LaFave, Beeler, Eisen, Bezotte, Martin, Jones, Coleman, Rogers, Steenland. Absent: None. Excused: None. Chair LaFave stated that the committee would follow the committee rules, as prescribed in Chapter 4 of the House Rules. The Chair allowed the committee members to introduce themselves. The Chair laid a presentation on the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs before the committee. The Chair invited Fred Schaible, representing the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, to give a presentation. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Beeler moved to adopt Room 307, Tuesdays, at 12 Noon, as the standing Room, Day, and Time of the committee. The motion prevailed 9-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. LaFave, Beeler, Eisen, Bezotte, Martin, Jones, Coleman, Rogers, Steenland. Nays: None. Pass: None. There being no further business before the committee, Rep.
