- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON NATURAL RESOURCES AND OUTDOOR RECREATION REP. GARY HOWELL CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, February 11, 2021 10:30 AM Room 307, House Office Building The House Committee on Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation was called to order by Chair Howell. The Clerk read a letter from Speaker Wentworth removing Representative Carra and adding Representative Eisen to the House Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation Committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Howell, Markkanen, LaFave, Marino, Eisen, Wakeman, Sowerby, Cambensy, Aiyash. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representatives Marino and Aiyash joined the committee remotely. The Chair laid before the Committee a presentation by Amy Trotter from the Michigan United Conservation Clubs. Amy Trotter, representing the Michigan United Conservation Clubs, introduced the group and outlined their mission and goals. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid before the Committee a presentation by Becky Humphries, CEO, and Mark Hatfield, National Director of Conservation, both with the National Wild Turkey Federation. Howell) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending section 43525c (MCL 324.43525c), as added by 2020 PA 262. At 11:20 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 11:21 AM, Majority Vice Chair Markkanen called the committee back to order. Chair Howell introduced and discussed the rationale for HB 4126. At 11:24 AM, Majority Vice Chair Markkanen laid the committee at ease. At 11:24 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. Representative LaFave moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 4, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
