GRAHAM FILLER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, February 16, 2021 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Judiciary was called to order by Chair Filler. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Filler, Mueller, Steven Johnson, Kahle, Rendon, Berman, Wozniak, Clements, LaGrand, Yancey, Bolden, Hope, Breen. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representatives Mueller, Kahle, Berman, Clements, LaGrand, Yancey, Bolden, Hope and Breen joined the committee remotely. Representative Steven Johnson moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 9, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4143, HB 4145, HB 4146 and HB 4147 before the committee: HB 4143 (Rep. Clements) A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled "Michigan vehicle code," by amending sections 215, 226a, 234, and 243 (MCL 257.215, 257.226a, 257.234, and 257.243), section 226a as amended by 2006 PA 516, section 234 as amended by 2002 PA 552, and section 243 as amended by 1989 PA 299. HB 4145 (Rep. Filler) A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled "Michigan vehicle code," by amending section 244 (MCL 257.244), as amended by 2013 PA 231. HB 4146 (Rep. LaGrand) A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled "Michigan vehicle code," by amending section 255 (MCL 257.255), as amended by 2020 PA 304. HB 4147 (Rep. Manoogian) A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled "Michigan vehicle code," by amending sections 306 and 907 (MCL 257.306 and 257.907), section 306 as amended by 2020 PA 304 and section 907 as amended by 2015 PA 126. Yancey) A bill to amend 1965 PA 213, entitled "An act to provide for setting aside the conviction in certain criminal cases; to provide for the effect of such action; to provide for the retention of certain nonpublic records and their use; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain public agencies and officers; and to prescribe penalties," by amending section 1 (MCL 780.621) as amended by 2020 PA 191. HB 4220 (Rep. Bellino) A bill to amend 1965 PA 213, entitled "An act to provide for setting aside the conviction in certain criminal cases; to provide for the effect of such action; to provide for the retention of certain nonpublic records and their use; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain public agencies and officers; and to prescribe penalties," by amending section 1c (MCL 780.621c), as added by 2020 PA 187. Representative Yancey and Representative Bellino, testified in support of HB 4219 and HB 4220. Questions and discussion followed.
