- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON COMMUNICATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY REP. MICHELE HOITENGA CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, February 17, 2021 10:30 AM Room 307, House Office Building The House Committee on Communications and Technology was called to order by Chair Hoitenga. Clerk reads the letter appointing members. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hoitenga, Damoose, Griffin, Hauck, Reilly, Wozniak, Coleman, Haadsma, Aiyash, Scott. Absent: Rep. Bezotte. Excused: Rep. Bezotte. Representative Aiyash attended the meeting remotely via Zoom. Representative Griffin moved to adopt Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in room 307 of the House Office Building as the normal day, time, and location for meetings of the House Communications and Technology Committee. The motion prevailed 8-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hoitenga, Damoose, Griffin, Hauck, Wozniak, Coleman, Haadsma, Scott. Nays: None. Pass: None. The House Communications and Technology Committee will follow Chapter IV, stated in the House Standing Rules, that were adopted on the House Floor. The Members introduced themselves to the Committee. Ken Morin, Chair Hoitenga's Chief of Staff, gave an update to Committee members on past legislation that has come before and will come before the Communications & Technology Committee. The Department of Technology, Management and Budget made a presentation on the Connecting Michigan Communities (CMIC) Grant Program. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Damoose moved to excuse Representative Bezotte from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
