- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS REP. MIKE MUELLER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, February 25, 2021 9:00 AM Room 327, House Office Building The House Committee on Government Operations was called to order by Chair Mueller. At 9:01 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 9:02 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Mueller, VanWoerkom, Hauck, Cherry, Rabhi. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Hauck moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 10, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4061 before the committee: HB 4061 (Rep. Slagh) A bill to amend 2016 PA 235, entitled "Public threat alert system act," by amending sections 2 and 3 (MCL 28.672 and 28.673). Representative Slaugh testified on his legislation. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in opposition to HB 4061, but did not wish to speak: Emily Schwarzkopf, representing the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Representative Hauck moved to report out HB 4061 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 3-2-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Mueller, VanWoerkom, Hauck. Nays: Reps. Cherry, Rabhi. Pass: None.
