BRONNA KAHLE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, February 25, 2021 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Health Policy was called to order by Chair Kahle. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Kahle, Meerman, Whiteford, Alexander, Allor, Hauck, Filler, Mueller, Beeler, Fink, Roth, Tisdel, Witwer, Pohutsky, Stone, Whitsett, Neeley, Morse. Absent: Rep. Clemente. Excused: Rep. Clemente. Representative Filler moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 24, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4317 and HB 4318 before the committee: HB 4317 (Rep. Witwer) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 21769. HB 4318 (Rep. Kahle) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 5145 (MCL 333.5145), as added by 2020 PA 231, and by adding section 5145b. Representative Witwer, testified in support of HB 4317. Questions and discussion followed. Chair Kahle, testified in support of HB 4318. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4317 and HB 4318, but did not wish to speak: Melissa Seifert, representing the AARP Michigan. Kyle Zebley, representing the American Telemedicine Association. Representative Pohutsky moved to excuse Representative Clemente from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Kahle adjourned the meeting at 11:59 AM.
