DAIRE RENDON CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, March 4, 2021 9:00 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Insurance was called to order by Chair Rendon. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Rendon, Berman, Kahle, LaFave, Hall, Meerman, Bezotte, Clements, Posthumus, Tisdel, Brenda Carter, Anthony, Bolden, Coleman, Stone, Breen, Steenland. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Brenda Carter moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 18, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4171 and HB 4172 before the committee: HB 4171 (Rep. Allor) A bill to amend 1969 PA 317, entitled "Worker's disability compensation act of 1969," by amending section 405 (MCL 418.405), as amended by 2014 PA 515. HB 4172 (Rep. Yaroch) A bill to amend 1969 PA 317, entitled "Worker's disability compensation act of 1969," by amending section 405 (MCL 418.405), as amended by 2014 PA 515. Representative Yaroch explained the proposed substitute (H-1). Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card in support of HB 4171 and HB 4172, but did not wish to speak: Tim Greimel, representing the AFSCME Council 25.
