GARY HOWELL CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, March 4, 2021 10:30 AM Room 307, House Office Building The House Committee on Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation was called to order by Chair Howell. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Howell, Markkanen, LaFave, Marino, Eisen, Wakeman, Sowerby, Cambensy, Aiyash. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative LaFave moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 25, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid before the Committee a presentation by Jason Geer, President and CEO of Michigan Oil and Gas. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid HB 4123 before the committee: HB 4123 (Rep. Griffin) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending sections 5301, 5403, and 5405 (MCL 324.5301, 324.5403, and 324.5405), section 5301 as amended by 2012 PA 560 and sections 5403 and 5405 as added by 1997 PA 26. Representative LaFave moved to report out HB 4123 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 9-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Howell, Markkanen, LaFave, Marino, Eisen, Wakeman, Sowerby, Cambensy, Aiyash. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HB 4050 before the committee: HB 4050 (Rep. Cherry) A bill to amend 1976 PA 442, entitled "Freedom of information act," by amending section 13 (MCL 15.243), as amended by 2018 PA 68. Representative Cherry testified in support of HB 4050. Representative Markkanen moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4363. The motion prevailed 9-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
