- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON WORKFORCE, TRADES, AND TALENT REP. BETH GRIFFIN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, March 4, 2021 9:00 a.m. Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Workforce, Trades, and Talent was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called. The Clerk called the attendance and a quorum was present. Present: Reps. Griffin, Martin, Howell, Farrington, Eisen, Markkanen, Sabo, Hope, O'Neal. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Hope moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 25, 2021. There being no objections, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid before the committee a presentation given by union representatives from the Operating Engineers, Local 324. William Miller, Political Director for the Operating Engineers, Local 324, testified on the various road safety issues the operating engineers are experiencing in the state. Questions followed. John Hartwell Career and Outreach Representative for the Operating Engineers, Local, testified on the various employment opportunities in the operating engineers field. Questions followed. Copies of his handouts are attached. There being no further business before the committee; Representative Sabo moved that the committee adjourn.
