- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS REP. MIKE MUELLER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, March 24, 2021 12:00 PM Room 308, House Office Building The House Committee on Government Operations was called to order by Chairman Mueller. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Mueller, VanWoerkom, Hauck, Cherry, Rabhi. Absent: None. Excused: None. At 12:01 PM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 12:13 PM, the Chair called the committee back to order. Representative Cherry moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 11, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4268 before the committee: HB 4268 (Rep. Meerman) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending sections 2253 and 2453 (MCL 333.2253 and 333.2453), section 2253 as amended by 2006 PA 157, and by adding sections 2254 and 2454. Representative Hauck moved to adopt substitute (H-2) to HB 4268. The motion prevailed 5- 0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Mueller, VanWoerkom, Hauck, Cherry, Rabhi. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative VanWoerkom moved to report out HB 4268 with recommendation, as substitute (H-2). The motion prevailed 3-2-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Mueller, VanWoerkom, Hauck. Nays: Reps. Cherry, Rabhi. Pass: None. The Chair laid HR 56 before the committee: HR 56 (Rep. Martin) A resolution to declare opposition to the excessive fees sought by the plaintiffs' attorneys in the Flint water crisis settlement. Representative Cherry moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HR 56. The motion prevailed 5-0- 0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Mueller, VanWoerkom, Hauck, Cherry, Rabhi. Nays: None. Pass: None.
